Tour of the Great War

Fifty miles between history and nature along perfectly groomed slopes, altitudes exciting, unique landscapes, ice climbing: this sums up the tour of the Great War.
In winter you can do it all in one day: ski, ski slopes and create a ring that touches Giau, Falzarego, Val Badia, Arabba and Alleghe, turning around to the Col di Lana.
It ‘a spectacular route, available to everyone, which runs at the foot of the most famous peaks. In no place, however, condenses many memories as Lagazuoi 5 Torri area, where you can find the locations of open-air museums. You can start from the Owl, with a free ski bus takes you to a shelter Fedare Giau, where part of the chairlift up to the refuge Averau.
The Cinque Torri you can see the Italian trenches. From the terrace of the shelters conquer stunning views of the Col di Lana, the Tofana Rozes of Castelletto and Col de Bos. A Falzarego Lagazuoi cable car to climb in order to reach the highest point of the tour, well 2800 meters.
From the cable car you can see the opening of the gallery of Italian mine and the Tre Sassi Fort on the road to Passo Valparola.
On Lagazuoi you can visit the Austrian machine gun and just under the guard station with the officers cabin on skis.
Descend down the track Armentarola, in an environment of the most fascinating of Dolomiti.In bottom, a towing horses takes skiers up to the slopes of the Val Badia where you continue to Arabba, Marmolada and Padon.
You must have the Dolomiti Superski, to use the ski bus service.
In order to complete the round with ease, start early in the morning.
